Kenya Agriculture Eco-system Conference hosted by Kuza Biashara and the World Bank

Kuza hosted a  “Disruptive Agriculture Technology (DAT) UnConference”  in partnership with The World Bank & Korea – World Bank Group Partnership Facility on Thursday, 04 April 2019 at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi.

The DAT UnConference brought together a group of 50 Thought Leaders, Industry Captains, Opinion Formers and Market Specialists for a full day of unvarnished discussion and debate. The event gave the participants an opportunity to network with each other before the conference and also brought forward various challenges and possible solutions in the Agri ecosystem landscape using their vast experience in specific areas using the principles of Human-Centric Design (HCD).

The participants were divided into six thematic groups – Agricultural Productivity, Market Linkages, Financial Inclusion, Data & Analytics, First mile/last mile access, and AgTech Innovations.

Speaking on this occasion Sriram Bharatam, Founder of Kuza Biashara said, “The thought behind the Unconference was to create an open, trusted environment by bringing together over 50 ecosystem experts from different areas and have them spend a day thinking through their respective challenges, coming out with solutions that they have amongst themselves and commit themselves to the change they all want to see.”

Ahead of Disruptive Agriculture Technology Challenge and Conference (5-6 April 2019), the Unconference gave an opportunity for the participants to make their voice heard and harnessed the collective experience, knowledge, and brainpower to co-create workable and actionable solutions that unlock the potential of the Agriculture sector in Kenya.

The key contributions garnered at the Unconference were shared at the Panel Sessions of the DAT Conference thereby helping to shape the conversation at the Conference.
