Mercy Nkatha

Like most youth in Kenya, I was a university graduate, struggling to find a stable job. Being from an underprivileged background did not make things easier and I had to do anything to make ends meet. I started selling cosmetics in my home town, Kinoo, going through long days and harsh weather but my income still wasn’t enough. It was then that I found out about the Kuza Biashara #SheGoesDigital Program. I saw this opportunity as a chance to gain skills that would boost my career and become more marketable. 45 days after the intensive training, I am now more confident to market myself in my career using the digital skills I acquired. Kuza Biashara also matched me with a paid digital marketing internship that gets me a stable income. The quality of my life has also improved as I no longer have to go through the hustle of selling cosmetics by the roadside and I am gaining great career experience that will help me in the long term.
